How does working with TL work from first enquiry to delivery?

Start with your requirement. The sourcing and coordination scope follows from what your project actually needs.

The short answer

We begin with your requirements, then agree which sourcing and coordination tasks are needed. A project may involve supplier research, development, sampling, production follow-up, quality checks and delivery. An existing product or supplier may need a narrower scope.

What to bring to the first discussion

Share the product or supply category, intended use, approximate quantities and delivery location. Drawings, reference images, samples and an existing supplier quotation can all help. Tell us about any Australian project requirements, approval needs or dates that the supply must support.

  • Product and intended application
  • Dimensions, materials, performance or other specifications
  • Quantity and whether this is a one-off or recurring requirement
  • Compliance, documentation and delivery requirements

Agree the scope before work begins

TL reviews the brief with you and identifies what is clear, what needs further development and which decisions belong to the client. We discuss the service structure, supplier involvement and coordination responsibilities before progressing.

You may need a complete sourcing program, or help with a particular stage. For example, a supplier may already be selected but the specification, samples or production follow-up still need attention. Not every project needs tooling, a prototype or a factory visit.

Stay involved as the project develops

Supplier options and quotations are reviewed against the same brief. Where development is required, samples and revisions help establish the production requirements. Commercial approval, quality checks and freight arrangements are then coordinated within the agreed scope.

Approvals and changes should be recorded clearly. A request made during production may affect the specification, cost or timing, so it needs to be reviewed before the supplier acts on it.

How TL supports this

Your Australian point of contact stays connected with our sourcing team in Shanghai. The team follows supplier communication, production information and agreed checks on the ground, while you remain involved in key decisions. Delivery and after-sales support are discussed as part of the project arrangements.
